Il 22-24 ottobre 2021, la Repubblica di San Marino ha avuto l'onore di ricevere in visita ufficiale la Rt Hon Theresa May MP, che ha ricevuto il prestigioso Ordine di Sant'Agata al massimo grado: Gran Croce.
L'ordine le è stato conferito circa un anno fa dal governo della Repubblica di San Marino, ma la cerimonia ufficiale di premiazione non ha potuto essere organizzata finora a causa delle restrizioni Covid-19 in vigore.
The Republic of San Marino has recognised the Cav Grand Cross Rt Hon Theresa May MP’s merits not only as a former UK Prime Minister and a strong woman in the UK politics but as well in promoting and protecting the rights of women and girls worldwide.
During her visit, Cav Grand Cross May, also a testimonial of the Esharelife Foundation, was received first by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, HE Dr Luca Beccari, with whom they had a constructive meeting, during which both parties confirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and reaffirmed the ongoing work on further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as in the multilateral arena.
Dopo di che, il Cav. Gr. Croce May è stata ricevuta in udienza pubblica dai Capitani Reggenti, Loro Eccellenze Francesco Mussoni e Giacomo Simoncini, durante la quale le è stato conferito dal Segretario di Stato per gli Affari Esteri l'Ordine di Sant'Agata. Durante questa cerimonia, il Cav. Gr. Croce May ha sottolineato il fatto che il Regno Unito e San Marino sono solidi amici, condividono una visione comune su molte delle grandi sfide che il mondo affronta e hanno un impegno comune per i valori che definiscono le società libere e democratiche.
Cav Grand Cross May’s visit marked the culmination of a series of visits of various high officials from the UK to San Marino during the month of October, which paved the way toward consolidating the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and boosting the socio-economic exchanges in a post Brexit era.
