The Consulate of San Marino in London is delighted to announce a forthcoming exhibition dedicated to the illustrious artist Mario Ferretti.
Titled “Mario Ferretti: An Artistic Restlessness of the 20th Century” this exhibition is set to captivate art enthusiasts and the general public alike, offering a profound insight into the creative genius of Ferretti, who was active in the early part of the 20th century.
The exhibition has received the full patronage of the Department of Foreign Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Digital Transition; and of the Department of Education and Culture, University and Scientific Research, Youth Policies of the Republic of San Marino.
Mario Ferretti’s life and career as an artist in Italy from 1915 to 1990 were profoundly shaped by the cultural and historical contexts of his time. He left a legacy of deeply personal and symbolically rich works that continue to resonate with and inspire audiences today. His story reflects the broader struggle for acceptance and how art can serve as a powerful medium for personal and political expression.
This remarkable exhibition is made possible through the generous collaboration with Mrs. Alessandra Romeo, the spouse of Consul Maurizio Bragagni.
Mrs. Romeo has graciously agreed to lend her personal collection of Ferretti’s works, providing a rare opportunity to experience the depth and breadth of the artist’s oeuvre.
The exhibition will be curated by Dr Paolo Rondelli, Director of the Cultural Institute of San Marino, and Consul Maurizio Bragagni, ensuring a thoughtfully curated experience that pays homage to Ferretti’s legacy.
The exhibition will be hosted at the State Museums, Piazzetta del Titano 1, City of San Marino, a fitting venue that complements the historical and artistic value of Ferretti’s works.
The exhibition is planned to run from November 29, 2024, to March 2, 2025. The inauguration is planned for November 28, 2024, promising an evening of celebration and appreciation for Ferretti’s contributions to the art world.
