Mario Ferretti Exhibition

The Consulate of San Marino in London is delighted to announce a forthcoming exhibition dedicated to the illustrious artist Mario Ferretti. This remarkable exhibition is made possible through the generous collaboration with Mrs. Alessandra Romeo, the spouse of Consul Maurizio Bragagni.

Titled “Mario Ferretti: An Artistic Restlessness of the 20th Century” this exhibition is set to captivate art enthusiasts and the general public alike, offering a profound insight into the creative genius of Ferretti, who was active in the early part of the 20th century.

Celebrating the Order of Saint Agatha & Ambassador Inigo Lambertini

On March 21st, 2024, the Consulate of San Marino hosted a truly memorable event. We were honoured to celebrate the awarding of the Order of Saint Agatha at the rank “Commander” to His Excellency Ambassador Inigo Lambertini of the Republic of Italy to the UK.

The signing of the Convention eliminating double taxation on income and new steps to prevent tax evasion and avoidance

On 17 May 2023, the Republic of San Marino and the United Kingdom signed the convention eliminating double taxation on income and new steps to prevent tax evasion and avoidance. The convention establishes a series of rules that determine how to declare the benefits obtained based on their origin and thus avoid double taxation on the same person or company, the same income or possession.

It was signed in a ceremony in the HM Treasury building by HE Dr Luca Beccari, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of San Marino and Mrs Victoria Atkins MP, the UK Financial Secretary to the Treasury.

A delegation from San Marino, headed by the Captains Regent, Their Excellencies Alessandro Scarano I and Adele Tonnini I, attended the Coronation Ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The Consul, Prof Maurizio Bragagni Esq OBE, together with Minister Plenipotentiary Silvia Berti, Head of the Protocol, accompanied the Captains Regent during their visit to the UK on this occasion.

The  Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino paid respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

A delegation from the Republic of San Marino, headed by the  Captains Regent, Their Excellencies Oscar Mina II and Paolo Rondelli I, participated in the official events organised on the occasion of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Part of the delegation was also Mrs Silvia Berti, Head of the State Protocol Office and Dr Maurizio Bragagni OBE, Consul.

The Captains Regent paid respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by taking part in the Lying-In- State ceremony at Westminster Hall and signing the Book of Condolences at Lancaster House.

On 8-11 March 2022 a delegation from the Republic of San Marino, headed by the Captains Regent, Their Excellencies Mr Francesco Mussoni and Mr Giacomo Simoncini, conducted a Parliamentary visit to London.

This visit marked the first-ever high-level visit of a delegation from San Marino to the UK Parliament and another significant fact was that it was conducted on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.

On 8-11 March 2022, acting on the invitation issued by the House of Commons Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, a delegation from the Republic of San Marino, headed by the Captain Regents, their Excellencies Mr Francesco Mussoni and Mr Giacomo Simoncini, conducted a Parliamentary visit to London.

Part of the delegation was also HE Dr Luca Beccari, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, HE Mr Teodoro Lonfernini, Secretary of State for Labour, HE Dr Silvia Marchetti, Ambassador Non-Resident to the UK,  Dr Maurizio Bragagni, Honorary Consul to the UK and Mr Paolo Rondelli, Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.

Joint APPG event on the future of international trade

On 4 November 2020, Consul Bragagni chaired a joint roundtable of APPG-San Marino and APPG-Italy on the topic: The Future of International Trade. The meeting represented a successful cooperation of Newington Communications, APPGs of San Marino and Italy, San Marino Consulate in London and was sponsored by Tratos UK Ltd.

Mr Andrew Rosindell MP, Chairman of APPG-San Marino together with Mr Alberto Costa MP and Ms Ellie Reeves MP, co-Chairs of APPG-Italy shared with the participants their expertise and were engaged in an open and frank discussion with the other participants about the challenges and opportunities of doing business and trading with the UK in the wake of Covid-19 and in the post-Brexit era.

Official opening ceremony

On January 30th, 2020, the new Honorary Consulate of San Marino in London organised the official opening ceremony. During this ceremony, distinguished guests had the rare opportunity to learn and deepen their knowledge about one of the oldest republics in the world.

This ceremony benefited from the participation of a mixed group of distinguished guests from the UK Government and Parliament officials, diplomatic corps, businesses, academia and San Marino citizens.

The establishment of the APPG on San Marino

San Marino APPG

On July 1st, 2020 in London, was held the inaugural meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on San Marino. The meeting took place via Zoom and benefited from the participation of 16 members of both Houses of the Parliaments and was moderated by Mr Andrew Rosindell MP.

At the above meeting, Dr Maurizio Bragagni, Honorary Consul of San Marino in the UK, briefed the participants on the state of the bilateral relations between the UK and San Marino.
