Dr. Maurizio Bragagni, an Englishman with Italian origins, was recently appointed as Consul of San Marino in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
San Marino is one of the oldest republics in the world, and is “the only surviving Italian city-state, representing an important stage in the development of democratic models in Europe and worldwide.” (UNESCO Statement of Outstanding Universal Value, 7 July 2008).
In his position of Consul, Dr. Bragagni will be responsible for the promotion of the interests of San Marino on British soil, with the intention of promoting and maintaining friendly relations between the two countries. The Consul will have a key role in matters of political, economic, social, scientific and cultural issues that interest both countries.
The role of Dr. Bragagni will include the strengthening of relations in these fields, and, where necessary, assisting both citizens and businesses alike. Furthermore, this position will require him to take part in various diplomatic missions. Despite San Marino’s small size, it has consulates all across the globe.
Dr. Maurizio Bragagni is the CEO and President of Tratos UK Ltd, a British-Italian company that produces high-tech cables, and which has production and research establishments both in Italy and in England, and exports its products internationally.
