The Republic of San Marino has signed an agreement with the United Kingdom concerning the mobility of young people between the two States.
Young San Marino citizens aged between 18 and 30 who wish to work in the United Kingdom can apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme (T5) visa. This visa will allow them to work or study in the United Kingdom for a maximum of two years.
The Tier 5 visa, which is totally independent of the other cases, has a cost of £244 excluding the cost of medical insurance specific to each applicant.
To apply for this visa you will need to have at least £2,530 in savings to prove your maintenance in the UK. This must be available for at least 28 days in a row and the 28th must be within 31 days of applying for this visa.
When applying you will need to provide a valid passport with at least one blank page for the visa and a bank statement showing that you have £2,530 in savings. Each document must be provided with a certified English translation.
For the duration of the visa you will be able to leave and re-enter the UK at any time during your stay.
With this visa you can study and work as an employee as well as being self-employed and founding a company, provided that the premises are rented, the equipment does not exceed the value of £ 5,000 and that you do not have employees.
You will not be able to work as a professional sportsman (e.g. as a coach), extend your stay or obtain public funds. Family members will need to apply for a separate visa.
The Honorary Consulate of San Marino endeavours to keep the information above updated but strongly recommends checking the UK government website for any eventual changes.
